Ken Pitts

The Bible for Astronomers

Wednesday 14 January 7.15pm

The Bible for Astronomers
The best-selling and arguably the most influential book of all time includes many historical references to stars, some awe-inspiring and some apocalyptic.

Were they accurate recordings of real events, simple myths, or can modern astronomy shed new light on these writings?

Ken Pitts is an amateur astronomer, part of the leadership team at Immanuel Church in Southbourne, and course leader for CGI and Visual Effects at Southampton Solent University.

Ken's research activity includes virtual heritage projects, digital humans and the application of CGI techniques to black hole observations. He has a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, an MA and a PhD in Computer Animation and is currently studying for an MA in Applied Theology.

This evening will be held at The Grosvenor Arms, High Street, Shaftesbury, SP7 8JA
